Keeping your computer and McMaster networks safe
It’s never been more important to be cautious of phishing and other tactics to hack into computer systems. The federal government is warning of increased threats and attempts to access research and other activities at universities across the country, including but not limited to COVID-19 research.
For tips on how to keep your systems safe and to protect university networks please review information available on the UTS website.
New government advice on wearing masks
Canada’s chief public health officer is officially recommending Canadians wear non-medical face masks when maintaining a consistent two-metre physical distance isn’t possible. The province of Ontario is making the same recommendation and reminding everyone that hand washing and physical distancing are the most effective ways to limit the spread of COVID-19.
Ontario Health defines close physical contact as:
- being less than 2 metres away in the same room, workspace, or area for over 15 minutes
