Reminder: Request for exemption from McMaster’s Vaccination Policy due on September 19
As of September 7, all McMaster faculty, students and staff are required to upload proof of vaccination to the MacCheck digital tool and complete daily COVID health screening in MacCheck to access any McMaster location.
Campus community members who intend to submit a request for exemption from the Vaccination Policy must do so by Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 11:59 p.m.
This deadline applies to all staff, faculty and students, even if you do not anticipate being on campus until the Winter 2022 term.
Who can apply for an exemption:
- Exemptions can be requested for protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code, which includes medical conditions.
- Exemptions will only be granted when substantively linked to a human rights ground with accompanying documentation.
- Wondering what’s considered a medical exemption? Check out this article for some insight from a medical expert.
- See Step 4B on this page for directions on submitting a request.
While the Vaccination Validation Team is reviewing your request for exemption, you are allowed to access campus provided you complete twice-weekly rapid testing (find information on how to access testing here) and pass the daily COVID-19 screening through MacCheck.
It will take some time for the validation team to process and validate exemption requests. Please be patient. If you have questions about the exemption process, contact vacc@mcmaster.ca.
