Vaccination policy information for faculty and staff: Beyond October 17
Under McMaster’s Vaccination Policy, all faculty and staff are required to upload proof of vaccination to MacCheck by October 17th at 11:59pm ET.
After this date, if you have not provided proof of vaccination or received an approved exemption you are not permitted to attend McMaster’s campus or any McMaster-affiliated site and there may be impacts on your employment status. Please see below for guidance for faculty, staff and supervisors.
I’m currently working remotely. Do I have to upload proof of vaccination by October 17th?
Yes. Faculty and staff members who are working remotely may be required to attend campus from time to time and must upload proof of vaccination or receive an approved exemption by October 17th 2021 at 11:59pm ET. Please upload this proof to MacCheck well in advance of the deadline.
What will happen if I don’t upload proof of vaccination or receive an approved exemption by October 17th?
As part of McMaster’s commitment to a safe work environment, effective October 18th, all staff and faculty are required to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated. If you have not uploaded proof of vaccination to MacCheck or received an approved exemption, as of October 18th:
- You will not be permitted to access campus or any McMaster-affiliated site until you upload proof of vaccination or receive an approved exemption.
- You may be required to take a temporary unpaid Leave of Absence. You can use any earned/available paid time (vacation, compensating time off, personal days) in advance of an unpaid Leave of Absence.
- Ultimately, non-compliance with the Vaccination Policy may result in the termination of your employment with the University.
