Protecting critical McMaster services with a voluntary rapid antigen testing program

McMaster will be distributing a limited number of Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) to support critical, in-person functions during this wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.   

McMaster has secured a limited supply of RATs and will be offering the tests to frontline staff and instructors, supporting the key operational, in-person learning, and research needs of the university. 

“We have worked with leaders across the university to make rapid tests available where they are most needed in order to support the critical teaching, research and operational activities of the university,” said Susan Tighe, Provost and Vice-President (Academic).

Individuals who can participate in this voluntary rapid testing program will be contacted directly by McMaster’s Rapid Test Distribution team. 

The effectiveness of this strategy will be closely monitored over the next two weeks with hopes to expand the distribution of test kits as access to inventory allows.
