COVID testing

McMaster has COVID-19 testing available for:

  • Faculty members, students and staff without COVID-19 symptoms who require a rapid antigen COVID-19 test to access a McMaster location as part of the vaccination mandate at the  Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres . These facilities are not available for those who need a test for travel or reasons other than attending a McMaster location.
  • Students with COVID-19 symptoms or who have been exposed to COVID-19 at the  Symptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centre.

For students

Monday-Friday:  

Saturday/Sunday: 

  • Please attend a COVID-19 testing site in the community by booking an appointment online.
  • Self-isolate until you receive your test results, then follow the instructions you receive with your results.

 

If you have no symptoms of COVID-19, you can attend one of McMaster’s Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres  to receive a rapid antigen test.

You will be required to complete training 24 hours before you attend the McMaster Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres for your second COVID-19 Rapid Antigen test. You will be required to provide proof that you have completed the Vaccination Information and Education Training module. 

Check the Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres website for hours of each centre.

You must receive a negative test result to attend campus, any McMaster location, an off-site McMaster location or an off-site affiliate location.  

  • The first COVID-19 test with a negative result must be completed within 48 hours of first arriving on campus, to a McMaster location or an off-site affiliate location.
  • To follow, a COVID-19 test with a negative result must occur every 48 to 72 hours to continue access.
  • Test results from the Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres at McMaster confidentially added to your secure login on the MacCheck website.

These testing facilities are not available for those who need a test for travel or reasons other than attending a McMaster location. 

For faculty and staff

Book an appointment for a COVID-19 test in the community. In Hamilton, you can book a test online. Check your local Public Health’s website for community testing information. 

If you have no symptoms of COVID-19, you can attend one of McMaster’s Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing Centres  to receive a rapid antigen test.
