Important information for supervisors for the first week of the academic year
With the academic year beginning and many teams starting their gradual return to campus, we wanted to ensure you have the information and resources you need to verify that your employees are cleared to come to campus or a McMaster affiliated site, and to report if a member of your on-site team has been exposed to COVID-19. Please see key resources for start of term below.
Step-by-Step Guide for Chairs & Employment Supervisors during COVID-19
This guide provides chairs and employment supervisors with information about self-assessment, reporting and minimizing exposure to COVID-19, including steps for what to do if one of your employees has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
How to Access the MacCheck Manager Daily Screening Dashboard
This guide describes how to access and utilize the MacCheck employee daily screening results report created for managers and supervisors.
Please keep in mind that for the first 48 hours after your employees arrive on campus or an affiliated site, this dashboard may not be fully complete as employees who are not fully vaccinated have 48 hours from when they first arrive to their worksite in-person to access rapid COVID-19 testing at the on-campus Asymptomatic Testing Centre. This also means that until September 9, they may not receive clearance or a green checkmark in the MacCheck digital tool. Please be patient and understanding for this short transition period as we all adjust to these new systems and processes.
It’s also important to note that employees who require COVID-19 testing in order to access campus are expected to complete this testing outside of working hours. Asymptomatic Testing Centre hours are set up to facilitate this. Employees can use personal time before or after work, lunch times or breaks or evening hours to access testing. If your employee must access testing during working hours, they should have a conversation with you to determine how to make up that time.
