As we continue our transition to a hybrid semester of virtual and in-person learning experiences, it’s as important as ever for everyone to participate in keeping our McMaster community safe.

Matthew Miller, associate professor in the department of biochemistry and biomedical sciences at McMaster, says the scientific evidence is clear— vaccines are the most effective way to protect against infection.

McMaster students, faculty and staff members are required to go to maccheck.mcmaster.ca to upload vaccination proof by October 17 at 11:59 p.m. ET

Students, faculty and staff must use MacCheck to:

  • Upload proof of vaccination
  • Complete daily health screening if coming to McMaster.

It’s quick, easy and secure to upload vaccination proof to MacCheck. Learn more about MacCheck and what to do before coming to campus in the video below.

For more information on the vaccination policy beyond Oct. 17, click here for students and here for staff and faculty.

Showing your green checkmark

If you’re on campus or at other McMaster facilities, you may be asked to present your MacCheck clearance. For example, instructors are able to ask to see the check before classes, labs or tutorials.

Showing your green check mark will be particularly important in those settings where people are interacting in student service areas or for one-on-one appointments, including:

  • The Student Wellness Centre
  • Athletics and Recreation
  • Libraries– research assistance and appointments
  • Service desks
  • Before beginning one-on-one meetings including instructor office hours, TA office hours
  • Student advising
  • Faculty, School, Department and program offices
  • Office reception areas
  • Finance, Registrar and Student Aid and Scholarship offices

You will not be required to show your MacCheck clearance to enter campus or a campus building. There will not be any random checks for MacCheck clearance in open and common areas of campus.

Are you a visitor, contractor, or volunteer? To come to a McMaster location, visitors must use the McMaster Security App to upload their vaccination record. Please see here for instructions.
