McMaster to maintain indoor mask requirement until at least end of term
McMaster continues to review its COVID-19 protocols based on the latest provincial guidance and expert input.
Health and safety remain key to our successful return to campus. This creates needed stability, which is essential for students as they finish their classes and head toward exams, and for faculty and staff who are continuing their transition back to campus.
For continuity, McMaster will maintain its longstanding mask requirement within all indoor sites until at least the end of the winter semester, including exams.
The mask requirement will be coupled with other ongoing McMaster safety measures, including our vaccination mandate, active screening and improving our ventilation systems.
We acknowledge that a gradual return requires gradual change in a safe manner. Physical distancing will be encouraged at McMaster sites, but will no longer be required. This is consistent with distancing requirements within instructional spaces throughout the academic year. Of note, distancing should still be maintained when eating and drinking.Back to Mac Updates, COVID-19 Updates, Faculty and staff, Students
