A welcome from the Dean of Students
“Why is community so important? Why do we talk about it so much? Because no one succeeds completely alone. Everyone needs support from someone. We know that this fall is going to be like no other. We’ve been preparing since March to make sure we have the supports in place no matter where you’re studying from.”

Archway
Our program for all first-year students makes sure you feel supported by a community, no matter where you are. Archway connects you with one-on-one coaches, mentors and a community of friends based on your interests.

Athletics & Recreation
We know you’re going to miss going to the gym — so we’re going to bring the gym to you, with everything from free online fitness classes from The Pulse to ideas for outdoor activities.

Welcome Week
Welcome to the Marauder family! We know this isn’t the way you wanted to start your time at Mac — but we’ve got a ton of virtual fun stuff planned, including our fully online Welcome Week. (Hint: Keep an eye on the Student Success Centre site for more activities once Welcome Week is over.)

MSU Spark
Spark is a program that connects upper-year student mentors with first-year students, building community and introducing important campus resources.

MSU clubs
They may be online this fall, but there’s still an MSU Club for you — whether you’re into stuff like geek culture, board games or artificial intelligence, or want to connect with folks who share your future profession, culture or religion.

The Marauders' guide to netiquette
You’re a nice person offline. Be nice online, too. Mac’s Code of Student Rights and Responsibilities covers online behaviour — and here are some other handy tips for good netiquette.

McMaster virtual tour
Whether you can find Edwards Arch with your eyes closed or you’ve only been on campus once (or not at all), our virtual tour will help when you’re missing Mac.
